Frank Race is contacted by Chuck Hardy to investigate some missing jewellery, which has been stolen. But Race doesn’t like Hardy and turns his job down. Danny Emerald is also after Hardy for $50,000. When Hardy’s secretary Henders is found dead Hardy tells Emerald that Henders had the 50 grand on him and that the only other person who knew this was Frank Race.
