Johnny has been asked by the insurance company to travel to Chicago to see Mrs French, who is worried about her son, Edward French. He had left the States after the war, and gone to Malaysia, where he managed a tea plantation, concentrating on sales to a buyer for the Jewel Tea Company. However, on a recent business trip, he had disappeared.
