As Melva is on her way home a guy that she recognizes from the café calls her from his car and offers her a lift home. He tells her his name is Eddie and is quite insistent on taking her home. He then tries to persuade her to change her mind and go out with him but she makes it clear that she hardly knows him and has no intention of going out with him. He seems to really like her and certainly has the chat but her instinct tells her that he isn’t any good. Eddie is quite intent on getting to know her and seems determined not to take no for an answer.
