I remember the bus terminal. Jimmy had just told me about Anne, the other girl - the girl that he had fallen in love with. Then the bus arrived, and Jimmy tried to help me into my coat, but I snatched it away from him and hurried out across the wet sidewalk. The glass doors of the bus closed behind me and I sat down. We swung onto the north highway at the edge of town, and I watched as the rain was swirling down heavy sheets and blowing hard against the windshield. All of a sudden the bus driver shouted something, and at last moment I saw it - a truck skidding out of control across the highway!
