The police believe that Charles Warren strangled his wife because he couldn't stand her any longer. The police had a witness in neighbor Fred Trebor who heard her scream after seeing Mr Warren appearing to choke her at midnight and two witnesses, both Mr and Mrs Trebor,  who saw Mr Warren dragging out a large trunk and burying it. Unbeknown to the police they were actually helping Warren dispose of his wife's body or did Charles dream the whole idea.
