Legend says Death by the fiery tongue of the dragon to those who covet the emerald. There are three possible suspects who want to kill wealthy Mrs Post who owns the emerald, her twin brother Thomas who resents her for inheriting their father's fortune, her adopted gambling son and her adopted daughter who makes the wrong choice in partners. All three have requested financial help from Mrs Post and all three have been denied by her. Yet it is the brother who turns up dead in a fire and now Mrs Post has become a suspect. The Shadow pays Mrs Post a visit in the hope of unravelling the mystery of her brother's death.
