Dooley has been skinning hide working for a buffalo hunter called Culpit and his partner Faber. Dooley, Culpit, Faber and their cook were camped up and drinking whiskey then the next day when Dooley woke up he was told by Culpit and the cook that he had shot and killed Faber. He didn’t remember doing it but knew that he could be a violent man when he had been drinking.
