Private Jobey Turler’s horse Belle Shannon was 11 years old and lame but she meant more to him than just a form of transport to be changed. When he found she was on the remount order list Jobey appealed to Captain Quincy. Understanding what she meant to him, Quincy agreed to take her off the order for the time being.
