One day in the town of Marne, Michigan, Mrs Theodore Greener is walking in her flower garden with her friend, Amy Gillette. They're admiring the hard work which is resulting in some beautiful vibrant blooms beginning to open. As they head out of the garden, Mrs Greener notices that the diamond from her ring is missing. They search every inch of the garden but neither of them find it, until they must reluctantly admit that it is lost forever...
