Captain Frank Kennelly has been off the job since 8am. After arriving home on the Saturday morning to find his wife Ellen having breakfast in the kitchen, he reads the morning papers and then heads off to bed. Several hours later he's awoken by the telephone ringing... There's been a homicide. A man has arrived home to find his wife with another man, so he has shot them both.
