Jimmy and Helen had never been apart since their folks died until the summer that he got a job at a mountain resort. Helen was supposed to go with him and wait on tables or something and it was to be their vacation but at the last minute Helen decided to stay behind as she figured her boyfriend Steve was going to return on furlough. That was the beginning of the whole thing. That’s when Helen met Phil Armstrong. Maybe if Jimmy hadn’t gone away that summer he guessed Phil would have been alive today…
