This is a South African drama from the 1970's. Vic Risden had offered no excuse to his wife on that night all those months ago. He'd simply told her where he was going and who with. Helen Risden just had to understand that he was a good looking mature man who was fatally attracted to young woman.so he and Anita Trowbridge had gone to a cosy little country inn for supper. However on their way home they have a car accident and Vic is rendered blind. He feels he is now useless an object of pity not love. Gradually he inched himself out of the morass of desponce and comes to hate feeling trapped with his wife. It is killing him and he feels the only way to stop him from being killed is to kill his wife.
