Day In The Life Of Dennis Day, A
Dennis Day, real name Eugene Patrick McNulty, who for years played the wisecracking naïve sidekick to Jack Benny finally got his own show “A Day In The Life Of Dennis Day” also known as “The Dennis Day Show”. He played the same innocent character as in The Jack Benny Show and also continued to appear on the Jack Benny Show at the same time. When asked, “Exactly what sort of a person is our hero?” the following reply from his girlfriend Mildred perfectly sums him up, “I think Dennis is a perfect love, it’s just that no one understands him. The people in this town judge other people by how much money they have or how many brains. Either way it’s very unfair to Dennis”.
This is a brilliantly funny 30 minute situation comedy with strong supporting characters and interspersed with songs from the wonderful Irish Tenor singing voice of Day.
