In 1915 the court of Czar Nicholas II of Russia was dominated by a drunken dissolute monk who had take the name Rasputin. And it was Rasputins orgies that ultimately led t his banishment from the court despite the fact that Rasputin wielded extraordinary power over the Czar and Czarina because of his ability to ease the pain of their only child who had been born a haemophiliac.
