The boarding house has become a familiar literary locale, and it is almost always presided over by a land lady. Seldom if ever, do we encounter a landlord, except perhaps as an inferior appendage to a dominating spouse. Since the ladies have invaded (at least in our time) invaded all of the masculine domains, Turnabout is fair play. Today we are concerned with a gentleman who happens to be a landlord of a boarding house...!
