Mike Hammer is followed by a guy named Peter Morrison who tells him that he needed protection from a man that was assigned to kill him. However, Mike recognises a man in the bar who Morrison is trying to avoid as a plain-clothes policeman. Morrison disappears and Mike hammer feels like a real sucker.
