Ahmoud Hassan a dapper Egyptian in English clothes and a red fez turned up to see Rocky at his café Tambourine. Turns out he was from Great Nile insurance company in Cairo. Rocky Jordan had a consignment brandy worth about £20 on a plane carrying cargo to Naples had crashed and his cargo had been destroyed in the fire. Hassan came with a cheque to cover the full amount of insurance £500, which covered 150 cases, but Jordan had only shipped 5 cases. Hassan was insistent that Jordan accepts the cheque but then left telling Jordan that this had been the most disgusting affair in his experience and that he thought he was a low contemptible despicable dog. Jordan knew that this was going to be a big deal; he knew that he had only shipped 5 cases and that they were insured for £20.
