Connie Haines is the Mistress of Ceremonies, but it's Bob Hope who opens the show with a few of his usual wisecracks, before welcoming Judy Garland singing Dixieland Band. Judy's in a pickle, she needs a leading man for her new musical. He needs to be very good looking, tremendously talented, and have lots of appeal for women, so naturally she came to see Bob... He might be able to recommend someone!
