You've all heard of the old Brokar mansion, naturally. Facing the river, occupying a full block in the heart of the city, with its gardens stretching all the way to the river, and its towering shade trees shielding the imposing bulk of the renaissance house with its great copper roof. It's gone now of course, to be replaced by a huge high-rise apartment building. But, it's not so long ago that the last of the Brokar's, Simon, lived and refused to die there - no matter how many people, in and out of the real estate system, were eagerly awaiting his demise.
