The Cobbler’s Window is originally from Russian author Leo Tolstoy’s story - Where Love Is, There God Is Also. It is the story of Martin, a lonely old cobbler, who has been sad and longing for death since his own son died. He blames God for taking him away from him, but he changes his outlook after a visit from an old friend.
