With Christmas just a week off, the Harris family is busily engaged in putting a few Yuletide decorations around the house. Alice is hanging a holly reef in the window and Phil has just finished hanging some mistletoe, or as he calls it, smooching spinach. Alice's brother Willy wants to know why they haven't got the community Christmas tree up this year and he's going to the city hall to find out why. Alice decides she's going too and Phil as they need enough people to protest. Phil doesn't want a tree to have to be chopped down and talk/sings a song called Woodman Spare That Tree.
