The heavily loaded sled moved down hill through White Pass. The driver of the dog team was in high spirits, as he had struck it rich, and was on his way to civilisation with enough gold to last him for the rest of his life. The bells on his dogs rang gaily, and neither dogs nor driver knew that death was waiting at the bend.
