Christmas Ottoman

Broadcast: December 9, 1947
Added: Dec 14 2020

The big events occur in ones life only every now and then but there are some smaller things in every day life that are familiar to every family and it’s these daily life incidents that make up the private lives of Ethel and Albert. Ethel has bought aunt Bertha an ottoman for Christmas and is having trouble wrapping it up without a box.

At the start of the show, recognizing 150 years of the Constitution, there is an address on the importance of maintaining the American way of life by preserving freedom of speech and the many other rights we enjoy. But as a nation do we really appreciate them or do we just accept them. What often happens is that we accept these individual rights and liberties, forget that they were hard won and in order to keep this way of life we must work hard to defend it.
