Tonight’s stars are one of the grandest actresses in pictures, Miss Constance Bennett and outstanding young baritones Mr Ray Middleton.

The show opens with Werner Janssen and his Orchestra playing, “Wake Up and Live I’m Bubbling Over”.

Charlie McCarthy is still very busy getting in to trouble and he does it so often it’s hard to believe he isn’t a real life person but after all Edgar Bergen must take all the blame for whatever Charlie says for it was Edgar who whittled Charlie out of a piece of wood, put a top hat on his head, a monocle on his right eye and does all the talking for him. Now Charlie is in trouble for playing truant!
