Charles Korvin (November 21, 1907 – June 18, 1998) born Géza Korvin Kárpáthy Korvin, made his stage debut on Broadway in 1943 using the name Geza Korvin. After signing a movie contract with Universal Pictures, he changed his stage name to Charles Korvin. He worked steadily through the 1940s, including appearing in three films with actress Merle Oberon. In the 1950s, after leaving Universal, he played a number of "villain" roles in films and television including a Russian agent named Rokov in Tarzan's Savage Fury starring Lex Barker as the title character. In 1957, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States. On television, he played The Eagle on Disney's Zorro and, famously, played Latin dance instructor Carlos on The Honeymooners episode "Mama Loves Mambo." In 1959 he starred in the US/UK television series Interpol Calling. Korvin died at the age of 90 in Manhattan.
