Well Lum's policy of trying to keep Abner's identity a secret in his position as political boss threw a monkey wrench in his political machine right off the bat. Abner the new Broom party candidate for mayor was not allowed to tell Squire Skimp who was managing his campaign. So the Squire deciding that Abner would certainly need a manager eagerly took over the job himself. Let's see what happens next...
