The Mars rocket ship is nearing completion as Cedric and Abner labor daily on it's construction. Lum directs the work by remote control from the store and library, while Squire Skimp, self-appointed treasurer for the Mars Expedition Corporation continues to worry about the bills that are pouring in to his office. As we look in on the little community today, we find Abner at the observatory, busily applying varnish to the outside of the rocket ship...
