Our story opens at central headquarters, at the office of Mr Chameleon, where he is sitting relaxed at his desk. It is the well-dressed man sitting across from him whose pleasant face is strained and tense. The man is convinced that his brother, Louis, is about to be murdered by his wife, Florence. For the past several months she has been treated by specialists for a nervous disorder, but it's getting worse instead of better. Although, the fact that she believes herself to be in love with the architect, Carl Robins, and Louis refusal to grant her a divorce, certainly isn't helping matters...
