Universal Consolidated Mining Corporation is in Alaska across the border from the Yukon and sits at the foot of a big glacier. It has never been a problem but by some freak of nature the glacier is changing course and is set to sweep down over the mine, the town and everything. The insurance company is worried that the mine company may have run out of that rich vein of gold and engineered the glacier move as it seems strange that the glacier which has followed the same path for hundreds of years, is suddenly heading towards well-insured buildings.
