It is early morning in New York, the time of day generally reserved for slumber but there's plenty of action at Dehner's, a gambling spot on Manhattan's east side all of which impresses the two gentlemen standing by the roulette wheel, Vince Calvin and his stooge Eli. When Vince Calvin tries to shut Arthur Dehner down they end up in a brawl and Dehner ends up beaten up. Dehner threatens to hire a hitman to kill Calvin but his daughter fearing her father will get in to serious trouble employs Michael Waring aka The Falcon to protect Vince Calvin.
