It is late Saturday afternoon. A short heavy set boy in a dirty trench coat makes his way to the 12th floor suite of Senator Arthur Blake. And when he comes to the door he feels at his left shoulder where the outline of a holster can be seen. Then obviously reassured he hasn't forgotten the tools of his trade, he knocks at the Senator's door. Mr Darling says he is from the FBI and is investigating a phoney company oil company. Their records show that Senator Blake helped a man named Jean Colbert sell eight million dollars of oil to the navy during the war but the oil never got delivered. The next minute Senator Blake commits suicide by leaping twelve stories. Why did he do that and who is Jean Colbert?
