Carew wants Dr Kikldare to show a benefactor of the hospital on a guided tour but he refuses as he has a patient waiting and he believes that to be far more important. Carew ends up doing the tour himself but later discovers that Miss Mudd the woman he believes to be the rich benefactor who is going to help them rectify lots of their problems is one of the new examiners for the state board of hospitals.
