The Cardinal Murder Case opened when Elaine Delieu was shot to death while in a foreign car owned by ex-racketeer Tony Cardinal. Philo Vance believes that the girl was killed by mistake but he insists that if she weren’t that her killer is Cardinal. Al Bailey underworld character and former boyfriend of the girl has been under surveillance.
