Mrs Wintner is the widower of Captain Philip Wintner who was stationed at Fort Laramie before Cheyenne Indians killed him four years ago. Now Mrs Wintner was at Fort Laramie and wants to get her husbands body for a proper burial. However Major Daggart tells her it is not possible to recover his body from Indian Territory due to a land treaty and Major Daggart doesn’t want to risk the lives of his men escorting her.
