A new family have moved in to Riversend and the young boy, Kenny Douglas, takes his dog to see Dr. Christine to remove a splinter from his foot. He tells Dr. Christian and Nurse Judy all about his dog, Laddie, who was a very brave war dog. Laddie has been detrained from the army now and is Kenny's loving pet but his war training comes in very useful later when he saves Kenny's life.
