The scene is Cambridge, and standing in its own grounds just off the great North Road is the Hermitage, home of Henry Monzine - affectionately known as the Squire. Darkening skies foretell the coming storm as the Squire and the Sheriff walk to the front door. After a drink of wine, the Squire bids goodnight to his friend, and the two maids witness him locking himself into his bedroom, as is his usual routine. But during the night, within that closed room, the door bolted and locked, a tight-fastened window and a raging dark storm - now stretched out on the bed is a man, stabbed through the heart! Such is, the Cambridge unsolved mystery.
