A group of scientists in Washington searching for a new element found themselves in need of meteoric ore. A chest of pieces broken from a large meteor that had fallen in California was stolen on the way to Saint Louis. When the same thing happened a second time government authorities were certain that enemy agents were trying to prevent the research. The Lone Ranger and Tonto were asked to aid in protecting the third shipment of the limited supply of meteorite.
