Burt Lancaster

Broadcast: April 7, 1949
Added: Apr 08 2016

Singing hostess Dorothy Lamour opens the show, welcoming Henry Russell and his Orchestra, and her distinguished guest for the evening, the leading purveyor of hard-boiled glamor, Burt Lancaster. It's a fun program, played as though it's actually the rehearsal for the live show. It begins with a little problem though - Eddie Bracken hasn't showed up yet, so Dotty leads to a well-timed advert about delicious Sealtest ice-cream, followed by a song from the movie The Paleface, which just won an Academy Award for best original song - Buttons and Bows.
