By writing a fake letter that told of buried jewels and valuable silver pieces Squire Skimp tricked Lum and Abner in to buying a worthless piece of property. After Squire had left the old fellows discovered that the letter had been written on Squire’s typewriter and thus they realized that Skimp had swindled them again.
