Marshall Matt Dillon lets Holly Dean know that Sam Bruger is out of prison after three years. He felt that both she and her husband Jack ought to know in case he comes back to Dodge. Holly fears that Sam Bruger, her ex-husband may come back to town and try to kill her for divorcing him while he was in prison and getting remarried. Matt suggests to her that if he tries to kill her it might be because she didn’t back up his alibi when he was convicted for a killing he claims he didn’t commit. Matt didn’t think Van Bruger was a killer three years ago but fears that prison can change a man.
