The running and building of the railroads gave United States Marshall Wild Bill Hickok and his big and deputy Jingles a man-sized and dangerous job. There were crooked men ready to prey on the big money that followed along with the iron horse. One of their most hair-raising exploits came with the explosion on Broken Wheel Grade.
