Today we tell the story of the famous scientist of agriculture Dr George Washington Carver. He had a tough start in life, when at only a week old, he, a sister and his mother were kidnapped by night raiders. John Bentley was hired to find them, but he could only find baby George. Moses Carver negotiated with the raiders to gain the boy's return and after slavery was abolished, Moses and his wife raised George and his older brother James as their own children.
