At two o'clock this afternoon, Henry suddenly insisted on having all of the family in for dinner this evening, to celebrate Clifford's first day in a paying job. It is five forty five here now in Seacliff, and Hazel Barbour-Murray, hurrying to the family home with the copper chafing dish, comes in the back way and looks up in shocked surprise. The huge figure at the sink is not Mrs Kettleman, the housekeeper, but a strange broad-backed woman in a caterers uniform!
