It's after breakfast now in Seacliff, San Francisco and Elwood Giddings and his bride, Teddy Barbour Giddings, who have been kept apart by an unkind fate ever since their wedding day, the day before yesterday, are leaving for the Mark Hopkins Hotel this morning. Right now, Elwood in Claudia's old room, and Teddy in her room at the top of the house, are getting ready to come downstairs. In the Barbour library, Jack and Clifford are hopeful the two newlyweds will actually make it to the hotel this time!
