It is evening now in San Francisco, a pleasant warm April evening. The sunsets are a little later now, and the last of the twilight lingers on the bay. In the houses up in Seacliff, dinner is over and it's bedtime for the younger children. Upstairs in Jack and Betty's house, across the hedge from the family home, the six beautiful daughters are out of the tub now, and Sharon-Ann is first into her pyjamas and about to say her prayers.
