They’ve been spilling blood on the frozen hills of Korea. The stretchers were stained with it the fox holes were wet. The eyes of the wounded hopefully searched the sky for the helicopters that were to bring in the blood, whole blood, plasma, and more blood for theirs. You can’t know what it is like to be waiting for blood until you’ve seen the faces of the men who wait, the boys who may die without it.
