Vanessa Evans was loaded with money left to her by her papa who also left her oil wells, cattle ranches and a 70 foot ocean racing schooner which she sailed with magnificent skill. Mike Farley’s plan was to marry Vanessa and her money and her yacht. He had sailed with her every weekend for the last two months and now she had invited him to sail with her in the Honolulu race. Her cousin Hugh Guthrie was also sailing with them and when Mike discovers that Hugh is Vanessa’s guardian he begins to hate him and plans on getting rid of him in an unfortunate accident.
