A light snow was falling as Ned Johnson entered his mine, which was located about ten miles north of Dawson City. As he disappeared in to the entrance the stealthy figure of a half-breed emerge from the falling snow. The half breed hesitated only long enough to make sure Neds tracks led in to the mine then shielding a match from the wind he lighted a fuse that dangled from something he carried. He threw the bundle in to the mine and ran. Suddenly there was the sound of an explosion, rocks and snow tumbled down the hillside and the entrance to the mine was closed…
