Paul had looked forward to the opening night in Philadelphia for months and if anything it had exceeded his brightest hopes. In a way it was a reward for the four long Years of struggle since he’d come to the Cecil Wemin Arts Company as an unknown dancer from London. Yes Philadelphia was a wonderful opening with five curtain calls for him alone. He knew he had America in the palm of his hand now, that the morning papers would hail him as a star that he was no longer a promising newcomer but a great dancer. So it was ironic on that night in Philadelphia with the applause still ringing his ears that Cecil Wemin should come in to Paul’s room and shatter his dreams in to a thousand bits…
