This is the story of a hunting dog and begins when seven new arrivals come to Harvey McNeal's place down in the Piney Woods county of Mississippi and two young boys were on hand to welcome the furry little strangers. They learn that there is always a runt of the litter and are upset to learn that he will be put to sleep. The two boys, Lonnie and Tex, keep the runt puppy described by Lon's father as a no good biscuit eater. They call him Morova and determine to train him in to a prize class hunting dog.
